Marketing, Branding and Communications Leader

I am passionate about communications, marketing, brands and their role in helping transform business.  With a track record of leading growth and change, igniting organizations, and creating stakeholder engagement and advocacy, I have deep expertise, experience and leadership with branding, marketing, and communications.  In my career, I have created, launched, and managed new brands, repositioned venerable brands, and led brand integrations and spin-offs resulting from mergers and acquisitions.  While based in Des Moines, Iowa, I am truly an international pioneer having worked extensively in all regions of the world including North and South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.

I have demonstrable success creating and activating external and internal brand engagements through business, brand, talent, ESG, and DE&I strategies and implementation. My work results in measurable impact on corporate brand, reputation, trust, talent attraction and retention, and business growth.  I am an artful storyteller whose narratives, engagements and strategies have received multiple industry awards. I describe myself as intellectually ambidextrous – having the same degree of aptitude for science and data analysis as for people, team building and creativity.

I have held marketing and communications leadership roles in Fortune 150 businesses - most recently at Corteva Agriscience (spun from the Dow-DuPont merger) where I was the Global Head of Brand, Advertising and Narrative. In this role I led strategic development of a new, global corporate brand in a co-creation process with C-suite and leadership across the enterprise, architected an IPO launch on NYSE, and subsequently oversaw the strategy, promotion, and management for a $15B global brand. I developed and executed marketing strategies and led a cross-functional, global employee team and a team of agencies to propel the business forward. This work led to a brand transformation where three businesses from the Dow-DuPont merger centered on a single organizational purpose and master brand strategy. Highlights include:

Prior to the launch of Corteva, I led marketing and communications work for DuPont including a global thought leadership program transforming the DuPont company image from a chemical company to a leader in food and agriculture.  I orchestrated a multi-year food security campaign promoting establishing the Global Food Security Index as the premier source for measurement of food security and sustainability.  This program produced measurable impact; reinforcing alignment of five BUs, supporting stock valuation, attracted new business partners and engaged high-level influencers and policy makers to create a favorable environment for technology acceptance.

After a sustained period in Pioneer Hi- Bred Intl, DuPont and Corteva Agriscience, I am ready for new challenges and opportunities.  I am excited to lead in a growth-oriented and purpose-driven organization.
